A Love Letter to Grand Junction

Roses are red, violets are blue—Grand Junction there’s no place that compares to you!

Even if our poetry is a bit rusty, the sentiment is certainly true. No one loves and appreciates Grand Junction quite like the Janice Burtis Team, and we want to share some love for our city.

From hikes to restaurants to flower shops and more, here is a list of our Grand Junction favorites.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we hope you consider supporting some of these local businesses!

Best Date Night Restaurant:  The Winery Restaurant

Calling all Grand Junction foodies! Commonly known as THE Grand Junction steakhouse, The Winery offers the perfect atmosphere for a romantic date or celebratory night with friends and family. The food offers a rich take on classic steakhouse favorites like seafood bisque and prime rib, but it’s the extravagant entryway and dimly lit dining room that takes this restaurant to the next level.

Best Florist:  Country Elegance Florist

When it comes to extravagant bouquets or simple sympathy gifts, Country Elegance has been Janice’s go-to for years. These local florists are true artists at work as they combine brilliant booms into delicate arrangements for any occasion. From wedding décor to Mother’s Day bouquets, you won’t find better-quality florals in the Western Slope.

Best Boutique:  Tara’s Boutique

If you’re on the hunt for quality clothing crafted with fun and innovative designs—look no further than Tara’s Boutique in Delta, CO. We know, we know—not exactly a local Grand Junction staple, but this quaint store provides some of the best fashion finds across Western Colorado. Their goal is to put the “fun” in functional fashion, and they do so by creating quality pieces that will last through the wear and tear of your day.

Best Jewelry Store: Thomas Hunn Jewelers

A true gem in our local community! Thomas Hunn Jewelers is the oldest jewelry store in downtown Grand Junction. The associates that work here are incredibly knowledgeable about their custom designs and are quick to help you find the perfect item for any occasion. They consider each piece a representation of life’s significant moments and are happy to find the right fit for graduations, an engagement, or anniversary.

Best Candy Shop: Enstrom’s Almond Toffee

This local toffee store and confectionery is nothing less than pure perfection. Seriously, if you haven’t tried their infamous almond toffee, then you’re missing out. Acting as the perfect remedy for any sweet tooth, this local sweets shop offers a wide variety of decadent toffees, chocolates, and gourmet treats that are sure to turn heads at any family gathering or work function.

Best Staycation: Wine Country Inn

If you’re craving a little staycation, we highly recommend the Wine Country Inn in Palisades, CO. This charming retreat is located in the heart of Colorado’s wine country and offers the perfect getaway. With rows of delicate vineyards and wraparound country patios, this inn provides a beautiful setting for any romantic getaway or a peaceful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Best Getaway: The Beaumont Hotel

On the other hand, if you’re looking to spend a little time away from home—give The Beaumont a try. Located in beautiful Ouray, CO, this award-winning hotel still holds its historic charm with vintage décor and Victorian atmosphere. However, recent renovations offer a breath of modern living with its sumptuous amenities and delectable dining. The Beaumont features the perfect balance between living in the present and reminiscing the past—allowing you the chance to enjoy each precious moment on your Ouray retreat.

Best Hike: Serpent’s Trail

Grab your Hydroflask and lace up those hiking shoes, because it’s time to hit our favorite hiking trail—Serpent’s Trail. Located at the Colorado Monument, this trail was once a main road and considered, “the crookedest road in the world.” It earned that name with its 16 switchbacks and gradual incline. With a distance just shy of 2 miles, this hike provides a wonderful experience to enjoy the natural wonders of Colorado Monument and the epitome of Grand Junction’s desert beauty.

At the end of the day, there’s truly no place like home!  And while we enjoy celebrating the wonderful businesses that keep our city running—it’s the people we love that make a place feel like home. As you prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, we hope this list has provided you with some fun options to consider. Wishing you a happy LOVE month in Grand Junction!
